I am starting to strongly dislike it, and can't say that I have any ideas as far as possible improvements apart from a full interior swap, which is out of the question.

Yeah, I guess there's always that advantage. Others say that the black creates an illusion that the interior is smaller than it really is, but hey. Black just would have been more my style, and the more I think about it, the more it bothers me. Everything is in great condition aside from the headliner beginning to sag in the back. Just going to try and appreciate it for what it is.

I have a black interior and love it...sorry. I have however seen some later model X-Types with cream interior and black carpet and steering wheel. It could be a cheaper alternative?
