spam from Mary??? anyone else?

I got this message today in my email.. I think it comes from this board...

"DEAR FRIEND,

GREETINGS, ITS A PLEASURE AND WISH TO WRITE YOU. THERE IS A VERY SERIOUS THING
THAT WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS WITH YOU IN CONFIDENCE...CAN I TRUST YOU???.

I delete any email I don't recognize.
I haven't noticed any from "Mary". She doesn't sound like a friend.

I got it too. i get my email through my phone during the day and I opened it. said the same thing. no idea what it's for or where it's from but it got "click, click" deleted.

I got it. Just delete and don't reply. Its prob just some scam like, heyI have millions I am trying to get over to a bank in the US and i need your help. If you could wire me a small amount of money so that I get your info to make sure I send this HUGE amount to the right person this would work great. Prob something like that, seen them before.

I was actually about to come on and post about it if anyone else hadn't.

I got the Spam today. Says from mja555 from Jaguar Forums.
Evidently someone from Jaguar Forums has been careless with our email address.
Oh well, so much for friends.

before i opened it i checked on here to see if that username was registered
but i didnt find any posts where she had written anything
so i deleted it.

Just remember this......this forum needs money to keep it going.....with the adds and a few sponsors the money coming in is very little....they can sell your e-mail address for extra cash....

Rule of thumb, if you don't recogonize the e-mail, don't open it and don't respond....and if anybody is offering you money for nothing and you fall for it....shame on you

Whilst I accept that we may get emails or other stuff from K&N or similar automotive concerns, I am concerned that the administrators of this forum (a) haven't responded to this posting and (b) haven't stated what they will do about it.

Where are you guys (or gals)????

I just couldn't resist replying to find out what scam it was this time. Would have been nice to see something new but it seems 'Mary' ain't the innovative type!
Then again... 'she' did join the forum with the specific intent of gaining access to our e-mail addys (you can mail other members through the forum, therefore those who have not disabled this feature (if you can, haven't checked)will have all recieved this cr4p, nothing to do with personal details being sold or suchlike, just a clever (read-:less dumb) scammer...
