Default Speedwheel sensor

Hi all, I am replacing the Speedwheel sensor on my 03,xtype and i followed the sensor into the body of my car and I cannot disconnect the sensor from my car because that part went into the frame, is this normal or how can I get it out or get to it to disconnect the sensor.

Noxparadise, sorry that I can not be of any assistance. I have not had to deal with this myself. If I remember right, if you remove the interior trim piece at the base of the door, you can access the plug there and then you just have to feel the plug back through that way. But, I am going off of memory with this.

I was wondering if it went into the frame of the body and if i could access it through the inside, I'll have to try that now I just have to figure out how to remove the trim.

Nox, the trim just snaps into place. Get your fingers under it and lift straight up. It will pop right off. Super easy to remove.

Hmm ok the base trim at on the door is off and I see some wires but it almost seems like I have to pick up the back seat to get to it better, is there anyway to pick up the back seats?

To remove the rear seat you jusst pull up real hard the the forward corner. There are these big white one-way clips that hold the seat bottom down. If i remember correctly you will see the wiring under there as it comes through the floor. I remember getting fooled by one of those sensors when it was actually the reluctor on the axle shaft that was faulty. If you have the wheel off and the sensor out of the hole, just take a peek in the hole and make sure the windows of the reluctor can be seen and that the reluctor is not loose on the axle.

Yeah, I forgot to mention, the wire bars that support the seat actually hook into two (one on each side) things. You have to kind of smack the whole seat bottom back towards the rear of the car to disengage the hooks. Sorry. It's been a while since I had one out.

No problem. Sometimes its hard to know where someone has gone with a repair just by reading the one post. Hopefully the sensor takes care of it. I did replace only one over the years and it was a little tricky getting it routed properly.

I had it repaired but I actually noticed they replaced the right sensor ring but the fault code is reading c1175 which i found out is the left side? I called the garage and they said the jaguar dealer said there's only one sensor and that's on the right side? I don't think this is correct according to what I have read . So instead of replacing the left sensor ring they did the right..

Oh boy. one sensor and sensor ring per wheel. This means sensors at all four wheels and a type of reluctor/sensor ring at each wheel. The fronts have the sensor ring built into the wheel bearing. You may need to know that in the future. As far as what you have now said. I would look at the left rear (drivers side rear) sensor ring. Yep, C1175 is left rear. Right rear is C1165. C1155 is LF and finally, C1145 is RF.

That's what I thought! So even though the code reads c1175 they replaced the right ring sensor, that's wrong..hmm so the left ring sensor might be messed up then, I'll have to tell the repair place they fixed the wrong sensor ring..
