Default Steering rack securing bolts access.

Just an ask. I have read the workshop manual regarding removing the steering rack, and lowering the subframe is understood.

My 12/2009 2.1 V6 Front Wheel Drive, has a shudder as you turn to the left whilst parking, sometimes. Multiple fluid changes have helped.

I suspect MAYBE, HOPING, the rack mounting bolts may be loose. You must live in hope. The car is stable etc etc when driving, so I may be way off.

My question:

When I get down off the crutches, with a box full of wrenches/spanners, and crawl under this thing, can I access these bolts at all?

I just want to give them a good heave ho, and eliminate them before going to the $$ workshops, of which very few are open at the moment.

Thanks, and any tips I may be missing would be goodo.

You can see them and reach them but you need to take the wheel off. I don't think a socket will fit, you will need a spanner. One was loose on my car. The only symptom was a short squeaking noise when the wheel was turned.

Thanks Dave.

Much simpler, and I can do the now due brake fluid flush at the same time.
