Sunroof issues
Hello guys, I've had this issue since I bought the car a few months back. And now that its getting scorching hot outside, its time I fixed this sunroof. The front switch works (tilts up) but the back button doesn't seem to work to bring the sunroof fully back. I have no clue as I haven't worked on a sunroof before.. and I read a few threads on this site based on a similar problem - but I just can't find an answer. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Ok, sounds like you need to reprogram your sunroof module. This happened to mine and I thought it was the physical switch and just lived with it, when the actual programming takes less than a minute to complete.
Programming:
Hold the front button for a full 20-30 (I forgot which one)
Immediately after holding the front button, press the front button again and let the sunroof go through a full cycle (tilting, opening/closing)
Now your sunroof module is programmed! If you need any further help, just let me know.

I did that prior to posting this thread, and unfortunately this wasn't the case. The weird thing is, when I did the whole reset program so the roof can align evenly to the roof surface, it tilts slightly opposite to where its supposed to be tilted. (So when I have the roof tilted normally, its almost exactly opposite to that). I don't think anything is blocking the way either. The back button doesn't even work after the reset either.. just the front button.

My granddaughters grand Cherokee did this, I checked the track and cleaned the micro switch that tells when the roof is down from tilted position( if it thinks it;s not down all the way it won't slide back) then I dropped the switches in the roof(by the mirror) and cleaned them with tuner cleaner a couple times and bingo works like a champ, I then relubed the slide rails. good test of the micro switch is when it;s closed push down on the glass then try to slide it open, I am not sure if ours are put together the same way but it's worth a shot.
