So you all don't start ripping into me because there is already a thread I already tried searching for the thread and couldn't find anything. On ebay I found a xenon full headlamp off of a 04 x-type and wanted to know if anyone knows whether or not they will swap right into my 02 with stock halogens? Any help is appreciated and thank you.

 

no they wont. different tabs and mounting points on xenon lights, according to a jag tech i talked to.

 

I asked the guy from Jaguar at the X Type seminar this on Saturday.Its not a straight forward swap.There are 4 gyroscopic??sensors (2 front and 2 LHside) to tell the lights which way the car is inclined (I can feel a quip coming) as well as other electronic components for the factory fit HIDs which factory halogen fit cars dont have. Also he reckons that HIDs over here (not sure about USA) legally need powerwash so as not to dazzle oncoming traffic if for example a flys wing squashed on the lights deflects the light into oncoming traffic.Also the electronics put the HID lights into a short throw default setting if a problem with the cicuitry is detected.
