my front door handle was a little stiff... Other people complained too. I get lots of "nice car old man, maybe you should dye your hair grey " comments from my friends. when they feel the door handle the ask how the frail old driver can get in and out of the car.
It was not that bad really, but stiffer than most cars.
I decided to pull off the door panel, that was easy ( the clips are tight as hell). Then I took the entire lock mechanism out. I would say this was the easiest of any car that i have done the same thing to.
I then carefully lubricated the mechanism making sure it got every moving joint..
the difference is amazing. Opening and closing the door now feels like it is an expensive car.
I highly recommend this. the door lock mechanism is dry assembled and will get stiff on every car eventually.

Hey Bo,
Great post...I've been meaning to that myself....I get comments like "My Honda's door is so much easier to open and cost less than your Jag" lol
I'll have to rip into it and lube the hell out of it, plus i want to put some L E D lights in the handle so you can find them at night.......lol

Anybody notice that if racer had said he wanted to put led's in the jag we would have said he was too old or that its not a ricer? Seems to me like we have a bit of age discrimination going on here fellas what are we going to do? Moderators work your magic!!!

Hey who y'all talkin bout? Better not be me cuz I'm in the mood to whip out a can! Just kidding guys what have you all been up too lately? I've been busier than when I was working!!! Being a stay at home spouse is not as easy as you all might think I'm telling you this now. I only have one and it is pretty hard to stay on top of everything even though you have all day to do it.

We were talkin about Andersen.......he's busy with life at the mo and don't have a lotta time for the forum. We were just sayin its a shame as he was a regular contributor.
I gotta say though, I dont seem to have anywhere near as much time either, probly cos spring / summers here......You know the script..... BBQ needs cleaning, wash the decking, cut the grass, etc etc etc.
Lol @ the stay at home spouse bit...........man, you got your work cut out for you!!!
Well, I spent about 6 hours today on the Saab.........washed n cleaned inside n out. Took the rims off and painted the calipers again ( nuthin flash, just silver) cleaned the inside of the rims totally, then a spot of wet n black on the wheels. Washed the wheel wells etc while they were off too. Then a coat of Polish and buffed to a high gleaming shine...........finished off the handles and housings etc with a little back to black..........nice job well done.
All being well, start the X tomorrow!

Hey Aquiller, how's life man? Yea, too bad anderson doesn't have time for the forum anymore as he contributed constantly. Good luck with the stay at home dad thing. You'll never rest! I can't wash my car thoroughly just yet as we have water restrictions here in south florida. SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!
