Red face Traction Control and DSC??

Ok... So I know the differences between Trac & DSC...

Trac - prevents wheel slippage with either physical braking of wheels or engine braking depending on the car

DSC - Much more advanced Stability/traction system.

I also know DSC was an option... (indicated by either a button to turn it off or a coin slot)

My question is... on cars that DO NOT have DSC... do they have a standard traction system in place?

The reason I ask is even with AWD, traction makes a big difference - it's not hard to spin all 4 wheels when you're in the snow. Right now I've been limiting my search to exclude cars that don't have DSC; but if they have a standard traction of some sort - I can stop limiting those... as I'm already having trouble finding an X-Type spec'd the way I want.

Thanks for your input!!!!!

DSC only. I wouldn't buy a later model without it.

Actully, is is QUITE HARD to spin all 4 wheels in snow. Both differntials are open so as soon as one wheel spins, the other 3 do nothing! With out positraction differentials we will never be able to get all 4 wheels spinning in any traction limited situation.
