Default Transfer case cooling duct location ?

Where is the cooling duct for the transfer case located ? I have a new to me 2005 X-Type and I can't find a rendering of that duct anywhere online. The is a duct on the left side inside the wheel that directs toward the transmission but I don't think it is to cool the transfer case. Should the cooling duct be located beneath the transfer case ?

forget it. I searched the forum and found my answer. I have purchased a new duct and will be installing it as soon as it arrives.

I checked for the cooling duct and it was gone. I received the new one and put it on yesterday. The nut for it was still there with the tab under it. Apparently it was either knocked off or damaged and the remainder was just broken off the rest of the way by a service tech. In any case any case it was gone. I check the level of the duct with other under car components and it seams to not be lower than a number of other items. I will be vigilant in making sure it doesn't get damaged. I do my own work on cars so it should remain indefinitely. BTW, it was a bit pricey.

The number of AWD X-Type running around without this duct is amazing, it actually is the lowest component on the engine and can be torn off by driving through a snow drift, hitting a road obstruction or by taking the car to a quick-lube shop for an oil change! The duct is held on by one bolt (and a locating peg); but it must be removed to access the engine oil drain plug. Very often the person changing the oil sees the duct as a useless bit of obstruction and somehow the duct just gets left behind as the owner drives off. The resulting progression: No duct, impaired cooling, stressed seals, leakage, insufficient fluid (there are only 600 ml of fluid in there to begin with), and finally component failure.
Replacing the duct was the right thing to do.

The Sportwagon is a beautiful car - but when I bought it, there was no transfer case air duct fitted (Jaguar part #C2S18834, with the single bolt #C2C32665). For those who are unsure of what this piece is, it can be seen in this photo taken from the front of the car - it is right in the centre of the photo - the black scoop:

and the Sportwagon:
