Default Type of Fuses in Fuse Boxes

After a few years, I must replace some fuses in the Passenger Fuse Box of my X-Type Wagon.

Thought this would be a no-brainer. Went to Auto Zone and was confronted by several sizes of two-blade fuses. I quickly went to Google for an answer, and was informed that the X-Type uses an ATO/ATC fuse. That appears not to be correct. They look too big.

Would appreciate any help in determining what type 2 blade fuse is used in the X-Type fuse boxes. I would like to buy some 10A, 15A, and 30A fuses.

Thank you,

You need micro blade fuses. I get mine from temu or Amazon, way, way less money...

Thank you. I had guessed 'mini' but I need to go smaller.

Default Type of Fuses in Fuse Boxes

I purchased some micro fuses. However, when I compared the micro fuse to the fuse taken from my interior fuse box, the micro fuse was too small. The fuse I removed from the fuse box measures 5/8" long and 3/8" (maybe 7/16") wide. Not sure what those measurements equate to in the world of car fuses. That said, I am amassing a large collection of fuses.

ATC fuses come in a few sizes. You have normal, miniature, micro, and maxi. Our cars use a few different sizes. So, you will need to pretty much pull the fuse in question when at the auto parts store and match up the sizes.

+1 to what Chris says. I buy mine in a plastic box of 300 plus 2x pullers.
That's 100 of each 0f 3 commonest sizes Chris notes . . . standard, mini, micro.

I note also that in smaller format, there are 2 different types . . .
  • 1st with just end-exposed blades;
  • 2nd with edge shoulders of blades exposed also
I buy direct from China . . . box of 300 for about AU10
That's about US$6, or 2c each! and includes plastic parts box and free shipping!

Cheers,

Thank you, both.
Appears I need to remain flexible and own a number of fuse types.

FWIW I bought a couple of used fuse boxes on Ebay for the X-Type and XK8. They came loaded with fuses and relays - all OEM. I tested the fuses and relays - all good (didn't need the actual fuse boxes). For about $40 I've got a lifetime of OEM spare fuses and relays.

HTH, Dave

Dave -

That's a clever solution. Thank you.
