uh oh... CEL and cruise not available!!
So I just got gas and im at a light on the way to the shop that is going to lower my car.. engine light comes on and cruise not available light comes on and stays on.
I've seen it once before, but it just flashed the engine light for a minute and went away. This time it is solidly on, did 10 starts and it didnt go away..
lol..
Im going to read the codes as soon as the shop calls me back and says its ready.
Hopefully its just the pcv hose and not the throttle body..
Im scared...

so...
I checked the hose...
its absolutely fine...
dont know if there might be a vacuum leak somewhere or not
but the car idles fine.
i reset the the engine light and erased the codes..
drove the car to work and its fine...
dont know what the eff it could be...
i HOOOOOPE its not the throttle body..
are there any symptoms to figure out what it was?

P1384 manufacturer specific P1000 manufacturer specific
and P0174 bank too lean or something like that
I thought it was going to be the pcv hose.. but it wasnt..

P1384= CHECK THE GROUND CIRCUIT TO THE RIGHT-HAND BANK WT SOLENOID
P1000= system check not complete
Sounds like you have something a bit more serious than a vacum leak.

Possible (simple causes)
1 Dirty oil
2. VVT 1 oil flow fault
3. VVT 1 solenoid fault
4. camshaft failure
if you're good with a fluke, i can give you the pin #s to check for voltage....if not, dealer will be happy to do it.
Good luck

P0174 =
1. Air intake leak between the MAF and cyl head
2. fuel filter restriction
3. Bad fuel injector
4. MAF sensor fault (low intake of air)
5. exhaust leak (before the cat)
i would start troubleshooting with this code first....

I changed the oil recently, had a new exhaust system put in... and a new airfilter too..
maybe I'll take it back and have them check the exhaust..
but how serious do you think it could be?
I have a multimeter and know how to use it..
but I dont know where on earth I would be checking..

its digital.. radioshack brand...
lol..
right now the car is in the shop getting the springs put in...
but what should I be checking tomorrow?
Resistance of some sensors?
the variable valve timing solenoid fault sometimes comes on...
I know what it does... but dont know where it is or how it looks like...

First thing i would check is the MAF sensor, make sure you're aircleaner housing is screwed on tight.
Give it a once look over and make sure all connectors are on tight. Check, and recheck
Disconnect batter for 60 sec, re-connect. If code still comes on, move to next code.
