HEY MAN

Not all jags are designed to have leapers on them.

Don't hate.

But I see what your saying, you;d think a car like that all chromed out, they'd want the extra chrome on teh leaper.

Here in the US they are supposed to or usually do in Europe they are illegal to have since they are a "Safety Hazard" which is dumb to me....you get hit by a car that is generally a pretty big hazard with or without the jag going into your rear end...besides people these days probably like that a little more To me a jag isn't a jag without one...sad the new xf won't have one...at least not from the prototypes i've seen...

BTW guys I couldn't find any pictures of the xf...pretty sure I may have some on the camcorder but I've got about 30 of the mini dvds to finalize just to find out which one is it...if I even got footage of the car they had hidden from the public eye....jerks...

I think certain models, yea the leaper looks great. The S type and the new xjs i like the leaper on. The x type I'm indifferent too.

Alot of jaguars have never had the leaper, so it;s kinda dumb to say it's not a jag without the leaper. Like the XK's don't have a leaper, and the E-Type never had a leaper.

I agree, but then I'm not a big fan of the leaper anyways.........old school I think.
Havin said that, it was on a MK11 S type (1959) on a re run of Top Gear tonight and looked the biz.
That car could do 0-60 in 8.5secs and was the favoured car of the cops n the robbers of the day. It showed how they had a small badge on the rear bumper "warning" other drivers that it had disc brakes as the stopping power was immense and so ahead of its time.

SORRY the closest thing we have is watching 5 minute clips of top gear on youtube

All of the models until now have been retro designed with the look of jaguar the xk doesn't look like a jaguar so yeah a leaper doesn't look right on it...To me all other models look better with a leaper than without...to me that is the trademark of the jaguar and they don't look right without it...kind of like how most people don't like the new jags because they don't look like jags...not that they don't like the looks of the car itself but because it says jag and doesn't look like a jag...

You just opened up a big can of worms, but let's just agree to disagree

I don't won't this to turn into a big argument.

My one point will be, the first generation of xk8s are styled just like a jag, they are the recreation of an E-type.

That's all I'm going to say.

The E-type never had a leaper from the factory. In fact, the Mark 2 and 420G or the 1960's was the last to have a factory leaper. Jaguar re-introduced them on the sedans only in 1995. No leapers from the factory on the XKE, XJS, nor XK8 variants. Jaguars ads for the XK8 superimposed the car over an XKE with the slogan "The cat is back."

All you guys in the USA.Take a couple of days off on the sick fly over here (book return to Leeds/Bradford airport as its just 30 mins from Harewood House) on Sat and by the time you arrive we will collect you, take you to Harewood House for the meet with 4500 other Jags on Sunday. After tea and scones we will drop you back off at the airport where you can fly back and recover from the jetlag on the day that you are off sick....there Jim, how did I do?
Wish i could take you up on that offer. I wouldnt mind taking a trip back to the homeland for a nice cup of earl grey and a scone with jam. Just currious however, i do see a few astons and rolls royce in their if i am not mistaken is that a DB7 in one of those pics?

I thought TOP Gear was off the air? Atleast according to their website? Those fellas are very funny and i get a good laugh from that program. I especially like when they were in norway and the stig drove that snowmobile off the jump...made me wonder if he had a set of chestnuts after that one. The one thing i dont like about that show is that they really dont like American cars. Hammond appears to be the only one.
