This weekend I am planning on looking at a 2006 jag x-type with 58K miles. The price is 13400 but I was curious what common things I should check for on a newer model. I have a 2002, but also wanted to know how much the 60K service check typically runs at a dealer or privite shop. Thanks for the help!

 

Newbie, the problems are pretty similar to your 02. So, as long as you don't have those issues, you will be good. You are less likely to have issues with the transfer case, but pretty much everything else is going to be identical.

As for the price of the 60K service, that is a hard one to get an idea of as each shop has a different idea of what should be done. Get some price quotes, compare what they are doing and then go from there.
