in style and comfort in the jaguar! This thing is slow from anything under 70, after that it will rip where most cars would fall off.

I thought you were going to say that it's not about how fast you go, but about how fast you get there! That is certainly true in the city. We can all go 100 mph, but if I get there first, I win

I have slowly learned that no matter how fast you are going, the person you passed 10 miles back is sitting right beside you at the stoplight.Only on long stretches of highway for long periods of time does it benefit you going faster.

In a stock X-Type? You wouldn't see me going any faster than 85mph.

Got upset by a driver in a Citroen Saxo with big bore exhaust so floored it to over 140mphon speedo in Washington (UK) on a (private, ifpolice reading...if not public)relatively quiet stretch of road about 4 or 5 miles long and watched him disappear into the distance (theyve only got a 1.6 engine??).
I know there are never usually any Police carson that stretch.
Anyway I passed a police car which luckily for mecould only do around 130mph.
Good job Ive got EBC discs and pads.
Wouldnt do that sort of speed again
PS (Only joking about police car)

I've done a lil over a 100 and any faster and the car isn't stable anymore. I didn't feel comfortable pushing it any faster so i stopped there.

Now in my BMW...I've hit the speed limiter...and it felt rock solid and I wanted to go even faster if i could.

My record is 135 mph with four people in the car (floored the pedal for like 10 mins, or at least felt like 10 mins ). I am sure this beast can go faster.... if i was by myself...

I've got to say top speed doesn't do much for me. I'll admit however, I usually catch myself loafing along at around 70 mph on the twisty 45 mph road I live on

I thought these cars are limited to 126 or 128 MPH. Thats where mine shut off. My formula didnt have a limiter and I went 163 with the top down without even hitting overdrive. 2.73 gears ftw. I hear it would go 169 before it stopped due to running out of rpm and the trans wont shift into overdrive at WOT. that was a crazy ride.

Is entirely possible with the reflashes the ECM gets, they may have inadvertantly left out the goverening part of the software.

Personally I got the car so people could get a good look atit so going too fast for them to get a look sort of defeats the purpose. Now quick starts are not out of the question.

Seriously, I only got it up to 100 so far, on a public highway that was pretty empty on a sunny Sunday afternoon, but it felt like it had more and was stillgaining speedwhen I eased off the "petrol". I would suspect 125-130 is not out of the question at all but I can't imagine when or why I would want to do that.

I like that acceleration more so than the top speed..a Semi-truck can do over a 100MPH..but it's how fast getting there is what impresses me.
