wheel offset

RE: wheel offset
The bolt pattern is 5X108 and the offset is somewhere around 40mm on both X and Taurus, but the centerbore of the X is 63.6 and the centerbore of the Taurus is 63.9. So, technically, they are not the same fit. 3mm may not sound like a lot, but it could cause some weird mounting issues and potentially cause vibrations.

I am resurrecting this old thread I found as I was searching for this information.
Not to beat a dead horse but... what is the offset of a OE 16 x 6.5 ?
The posts of this three-year old taken together give a range of 37-48 mm
I was wondering if three years later the consensus has perhaps narrowed to a single figure, as it should be.
I have searched everywhere I reasonably could and have not found this information yet...
Thanks

I am planning on getting some gripper summer shoes for my "new" X.
225/50/16 upsize would give the same gearing as the OE 205/55/16 --- same 25.9" diameter --- but have more footprint with no much weight penalty.
The stock 6.5" rim would be too tight for this tire width though. TireRack carries some relatively light (17.5 lb) inexpensive 16 x 7.5 rims with 50mm offset

Starting from the OE 52.5 OE offset, a 7.5" wide rim with 50 mm offset would stick out an extra 15 mm outside and 11 mm inside.
Would I have any interference/clearence problem with that? I don't think so but wanted to double check, I am at work now and cannot take direct measurements...
Thanks.
