Wheels
So lowering my X-Type wouldn't be a good idea since I have 19's huh? More like a deathwish! Somebody told me to get coilovers, so its adjustable.
I might just pass all together on lowering it. I just hate the wheel well gap on my X. I'll stick to the thicker profile tires (225/35/19) that I've been planning on getting.

Coilovers would be nice, but the only ones ive seen are the KW variant ones, and the rear is not adjustable, just the front. I think it also depends on the width of the rim and the offset for the rubbing. But if you get a wider tire, i guess that makes the width the same. Good luck with it.

i love the jag stock rims... i dunno, theyre beautiful (some of them... mine).
But there was a point when I wanted more... I started looking for 20" XKR rims, because theyre beautiful! I was willing to pay the $2500 off ebay for them... But, i soon read there is no way on this earth they'll fit.
And I gladly stayed with the stock rims.

jmg7184, Yes 19x8 wheels w/ 225/35/19 tires and a stock suspension will fit on the X-type w/o rubbing. I have 215/35/19's and it doesnt rub at all; I'm planning on putting some 225/35/19 when these wear out. Good luck!

one other thing no one on here has mentioned yet... the same size tire can vary from brand to brand, sometimes by quite a lot. someone measured some tires on a forum i used to frequent for a former vehicle and found 3 brands, all the same size, varied as much asan inchwhen measured with a tapemeasure.
I've only had them on the car for a couple of days, took them back off due to snow and ice we can't get away from. The Toyo Proxes 4's SUCK in snow. They really do look good and fit wellthough, and the ride/handling is great (without the snow!)

They are actually pretty good in the rain (considering we've gotten more of the clear wet stuff than the white flaky stuff!) and water but once you hit some snow they aren't that great. I looked at belle tire for some other tires and they brought out some dunlop winter tires and if I get some rims i'd definetely get the snow tires because they are sooooo nice. The rubber on those snow tires is all soft and stuff and has awesome tread. The tires are so soft though that once we hit 90 degrees here in the D with all of that humidity and what not the tires would be eaten up so fast. Don't travel too much down that way by 275 and 94 and that with the jag. Did go to the car show with it though!
