It acts as a wind spoiler to create down force to hold the wiper in better contact with the glass. It goes on the bottom of the wiper arm.

I couldnt for the life of me figure out how to take of the wind deflector and put it on a new wiper blade without braking it.

Bought complete arms for mine from the dealer to save having to seperate the blades from the arms.Old ones had been on at leats 3 years and after recent ice/snow had started to miss parts when wiping.
Havent opened them yet but were £21 ($42)

I have had the Bosch Icons on for about a month or so now and they are outstanding. not a hint of sound and look really good with the low profile and clean aero appearence. Paid about $40 including tax for both at AutoZone.

Just replaced mine, Michelin (and other brands) have a new curved all-rubber wiper without the tension joist frames. Very Nice! No noise on direction change in rain at hwy speed, especially with Rain-X treatment. Two different sized blades: US$18@

All you guys that have replaced with aftermarket....report back periodically if you would. I have personally never had luck with anything other than Factory blades on any car.

My drivers side wobbles due to the length...i bet if i put the stabilizer on though the anco wipers would be fine. You just have to steal the adapters out of a smaller packet for the big side b/c they dont come with them. I am going to try the monoblade (no frame) wiper next.
