Default Window Lock '02 x-type

Ok before anyone assumes this is another key fob thread, it's not. My window lock, as in the function activated by the button below my window roll up/down button on the drivers door arm rest, doesn't work. And I need the forums extensive knowledge to aid me in fixing it.

Is there a fuse that could have blown? Could there be something wrong with the module that sits in the arm rest?

All the other window functions work to my knowledge. The red light is illuminated at all times but if I use the window roll up/down button on any other door, the windows respond as if the window lock doesn't even exist. It hasn't worked since I bought the car 4 months ago.

And yes, I searched to no avail. Please help.

I haven't seen a fuse dedicated to this function specifically, but whenever I have a mystery like this, I just look through all the fuses and see if any are visually blown (really easy to tell with a nice bright flashlight.) Although it could be a fuse, the fact that the red light is on is indicating that it's getting power and I would point the finger at the armrest controls being disconnected or faulty. To me, my window locks for the rears would only be a big problem if they got stuck locked and not unlocked like yours did. If you are willing to throw $30 at the issue then I would buy this and test it out 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 JAGUAR X-TYPE X TYPE POWER WINDOW & MIRROR SWITCH OEM | eBay

Disguay is right, there's no fuse that would affect only this feature. The window lock switch is connected directly to a small control module built into the Driver's Door Switch Pack - there's two connectors to consider;the output from that little module is the Black/White wire on Pin 5 in the 20 way black connector and there's another 20 way inline connector through which that wire runs within the door itself - Pin 7 in that one - but as the windows work from their local position, that would suggest the black/white wire run is OK. Looks more than likely that a new switch pack will be needed unfortunately.
