When hitting the windshield washer button and cleaning the windshield I have noticed that a few seconds after the wipers will make one more sweep. I used to have a Saab that did that and I am guessing that it is just a feature put in place to catch any drips. However, most times all it does is streak what was a perfectly clean windshield. Really ticks me off. Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to disable this. There are so many features on cars today that are really imaginative, helpful and cool, but to me this one is trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. I would think I would know when I want to turn off the wipers.

 

I actually like thatfeature. BUT being we are up north, when there is salt around, that last sweep really blurrs things and DOES ruin a good windshield. I like it for the fact it cleans the rain real good. Dunno about disabling it though

 

dealer can disable this... there are a few options to choose that include remote global close and some door lock choices.
Unfortunately they tend to charge you handsomely for this

 

Thanks, jimmy. Might ask about that if I have to go to the dealer. Not that ticked off that I would want to spend a lot on it though. Just don't understand that when they thought of this and tested it they came to the conclusion it was an improvement. Can't say that I ever used my washers and when that delayed sweep came through the visibility was better, even with new blades. Oh well, it that's the biggest thing I have to worry about I am a fortunate guy.
