Hey all, I am trying to upgrade the stereo in my X and for what I have planned, I am looking for 8 pins for the connector that goes on the back of the radio. I was curious if someone might have bits and pieces of a wiring harness laying around their place that they would be willing to get rid of. All that I am really after is the pins themselves, but if they would come with say 18" of wire, that would be great. So, if you have a chopped up harness that you are not sure why you are holding on to it, I might be your man.

Well, research is going slow. I may have a lead on some pins, but it is still a hit and miss thing and I should hopefully find out here in a few days if I have a winner or not. But, in the mean time, got a second part to this question: Does anyone know who makes the connectors for the wiring harness? If I can find that out, then that would atleast give me a starting point to get the pins. I looked through the JTIS CD and it doesn't say anything about the maker of the connectors that I can see.

Hey Thermo, check out nexxia. They sale the adapters and the like. If memory serves there are some likes to the manufacturers.

 

Perhaps Valeo makes the connectors?

 

ask x-dave on the co.uk forum, he will know as he made a modifed harness when I upgraded my X Type to the premium system and he is always tearing out and modifying everything on x types and X350 etc
