Default Wiring for a hitch

Anybody wire up a hitch for their x type. Putting my hitch on today. Was hopping for a plug and play set up but that seems like a pipe dream. What all will I need? Just looking for the basic 4? pin horizontal set up for a small utility trailer.

Benebob,
You need to buy a wiring module for your X type as it is not just a matter of splicing into the rear light wiring. Just goggle "xtype trailer wiring" and you should be connected to a vendor such as Curt, Hidden Hitch, Drawtite, etc.
Good luck, VMV

Got one from e trailer they claim it is what I need. Ran the wire from the battery back to the trunk today. Just looking at some wiring diagrams for the x type and there is a connector for the trailer listed on there. Anybody know where it is as I can't find it anywhere in the trunk. Sure would rather splice into that then the wires going directly to the lights.
