Hello. Can I replace the Jaguar X-type 3.0 v6 CF1 gearbox with that of the Jaguar 2.5 v6? The JF506E at 3.0 has the PL000 code and at 2.5 it has the PL001 code. Thanks in advance.

 

The transmissions are identical for the 2.5 and the 3 litre and therefore interchangeable BUT the JATCO506E was mildly tweaked around 2004 to correct failing reverse pistons etc., so in addition to attending to the codes, you might want to pay attention to the build or update date.
