Default X-Type - air only blows downwards

Hello there,

I just bought an 2004 Jag X-Type and I have encountered a problem with the heating and A/C blowers. The climate in my car is controled by the touch screen. It doesn't matter, if I choose the air to be blown through the upper cabine exhausts, or if I want it to blow to the windshield, it still only blows to my feet. Do you guys think, that there is a problem with the electronics, or somewhere in the engines opening and closing the exhausts?

Most likely the air box doors are not operating properly. A common issue. Search this group for explanations.

There are three stepper motors that control the air flow flaps, plus a standard motor driven re-circ flap.
This TSB describes a not uncommon fault that can occur on any of the three stepper motor drives and could be a cause of your problem.
