Angry x-type bucking

Hi, I have a 2003 x-type 2.5 standerd 5 speed. When I start it runs fine for about 10 mins all normal then when I'm going down the road and give it gas and reachs 2500rpm it starts to jerk or like stutter if I give it more gas it seems like it wants to stall I let go of the gas pedal and slowly accerate its ok but if I give it a lot it doesnt respond but still feels jerky. Changed fuel filter. but no change also noticed no pressure in my fuel tank when I take the cap off not sure if that means anything even bought a new gas cap fits very snug any help or ideas would be greatly apprciated. Thank you.

Default Question,

Is it a shutter, like maybe something in the transmission, or is it a shutter like a loss of power? Is the ECM storing any codes?

If it's in the transmission, try changing the fluid. If it's a loss of power clean the MAF, throttle body, and injectors. It's really general advice, but it might work for you.

If it's in the transmission it could be something with gearing or clutch plates, (did you say it was a auto or manual, I don't remember) anyhow, with transmissions changing the fluid is always the best place to start.

At that sorta mileage you could be looking at 02 sensors.

But to be honest, its only really a big guessing game, please try to get codes and then we can narrow this down for you much more.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Here's a pretty cool trick for checking for vacuum leaks with a cigar…
. I've seen vacuum leaks do some weird stuff. Just as JimC64 says, it's a big guessing game.
