Default X-type factory amp upgrade

Hi,

So im looking to upgrade the current amp in my 2002 X-Type with the newer model one from 2004 and up, to gain the DSP function.

My car has the premium sound and Nav.

So my question is are these amps a direct plug and fit or is there some modification that needs to be done with the wiring?

I know in the 2004 and up the amp is stored with the cd changing and with mine its actually in the sub housing under the rear window but relocating is not a problem.

Im looking at amp with model number C2C25736 although there's not many I can find for a reasonable price but I've also found part numbers C2S34888 and C2S38103. Anyone know if these are just revisions?

Any help is appreciated

According to my sources, the part #'s C2S34888 and C2S38103 belong to the same part. At some point the 4888 was replaced with the # 8103.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info Nardoswiss. Do you know if the C2S38103 is the same as the C2C25736?

Ive tried to look for images of the amps but haven't been able to find any of the connections themselves.

Here is the connections for the 2002 factory amp. If anyone knowns if this is the same connections on either C2S38103 or C2C25736 I would appreciate it.

the C2S38103 belongs only to the X-type 2004+.
the C2C25736 on the other hand was used for the XJ and the S-type. I could not find info that Jaguar used this one for the X-type.

Thanks Nardoswiss. I got the C2C25736 from another post here on the forum

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ade-pics-4556/

I was hoping that since my car already had the premium audio and just an older amp it would be a simple switch but I guess im going to have to do some type of modification for the harness.

How much does it cost to do this upgrade?

Just a side note, with the amount of work it takes to install this factory upgrade, you could likely install an even more powerful amp with better sound quality for less money, and the install could be just as stealth as the factory setup, just my 2 cents.

I actually have an aftermarket amp pushing a single 12. My hope was being able to just do a factory upgrade of the stock amp to gain the DSP function for the rest of my speakers.

If I didn't already have the premium audio setup I agree doing a non-factory upgrade would be worth it but on my car with nav I would like to have the DSP option.
