Default x type headlights now not working?

hi all. i have a 01 plate right hand drive jaguar x type 2.5 v6 manual awd. this is my first jag and i must say how much i love it compared to all the bmw's i have owned previously. any way... the first problem i have had with it is today, the headlights both sides, lower beam suddenly quit working on me today? no idea why? the sidelights both still work ok, as do the high beam and lower fog/spot lights. i haven't had a chance to look in to it yet, nor am i mechanically minded. but i sure would be grateful for any advice/causes or other suggestions you may have regarding this.

mju, odds are, the relay for the low beams has failed on you and that is cutting off power to the headlights. If you look in your owners manual, it may tell you that there are 3 fuses associated with the headlights. 1 fuse goes to each headlight (this is 2 of the fuses). THen you have a fuse that feeds power to the relay that is common to both headlights. That may have blown too. If you need the specific fuse numbers, let me know and I will dig them up for you.

mju, not a problem. Sometimes it just takes a little nudge in the right direction to fix what seems like a complicated issue. Pretty easy to fix wasn't it?
