Default x type stereo problems

i have an 05 x type and the sound system is junk sounds horrible and the back speakers dont seem to work at all. i dont beleive it has the premium sound. There is a lot of static and tweaters crackle bad. any idea how to get rear speakers on and anyway to correct the crackle?

You can tell if it's premium if the speakers have a chrome ring around them, usually that means premium, also says Alpine on the speakers. I take it you've tried fading it all the way back with the mode button.

You might have some fried speakers, or the head unit might be toast. I've never heard of all the rears going just like that though. More likely wiring if everything is crackling, pull the head unit out and see if there are patched wires.

Yes i tried the fade and still no sound. thought someting might be grounding? i will pull it out and see! does anybody make a aftermarket bezel that actually looks ok? i wanna put another head unit in and cant find anything that will look like its suppose to be in a jag! thanks for the info !!

I found out it does have a chrome ring around the speakers! which maybe makes it the premium sound. still need to check for ground wires and check power to speakers
