Default Sub Woofer Replaced Still No Good

Got my 2016 R back today after they replaced both sub-woofers. Service manager told 80% better which was close on FM. As soon as I put Satellite radio on no change still sounds like a blow speaker (base throbbing), Had them document it now not sure what to do. Probably should call Jaguar to open a ticket on this problem. Keep hearing of a fix coming out but not sure as there seems to be two types of problems a rattle (which I don't have) or the blown base sound. Boy do I love this car (other than the stereo).

Turn it off, and enjoy the drive. Listen to music at home.

Marty..

I have the same "issue" on my 380watt Meridian and noticed it on the R coupe I brought to the meet. I know on the R there are three sound modes. "Stereo, Meridian and Dolby". Have you tried playing with either of those settings? I've also tweaked the fader/balance more toward the front of the car and it alleviated a lot of the concerns you have. I also suggest trying the sound settings. My bass, treble and subwoofer settings are staggered.

In regards to the TSB kit, I've spoken to two of our engineers and they have confirmed the kit is around the corner.

I think people expecting some kind of dealer or Jaguar fix for the stereo system are going to end up disappointed. The bottom line is that this is a poorly designed and cheaply executed stereo and the only way to "fix" it, is to spend a fair amount of money replacing speakers and deadening enclosures.

Jaguar is not going to pay to have the stereos redone in all of our cars, your options are to either live with it or take it to a proper stereo shop and spend a few thousand dollars to have the stereo done right. I was leaning towards the latter until my car started having issues starting, and after my dealer tried blaming the problem on my hardwired V1 and denying responsibility, I immediately lost interest in replacing the stereo and opening myself up to denied warranty claims with anything electrical related.

I have always been wary of British cars because of their profound reputation for electrical issues. Unfortunately, it looks like this will be my only JLR purchase, despite the fact that the car is absolutely gorgeous and drives great. Spending 1/3 of my first two months of ownership at a dealer for repair work isn't what I expect from a $110k car.

Please allow me to weigh in on this topic. As you know, I had been very vocal on the topic of stereo's, and worked closely with JLR, and ultimately them with me. It was a great outcome, and I am satisfied to date with the solution that they put in place. At first it was a he said, she said, they said, i.e. asking what setting my base was on etc. etc. Finally, they agreed, by sending an engineer from JLR to my dealership and he immediately said, yep, I hear it loud and clear. There are three things we can do with this ultimately, but either way you will be happy.

To date, I am happier than I was upon first purchase, and the stereo, although not perfect, as Foosh said, it is as close as you could get in a car, and if I want perfection, my home stereo wil supply this for me. The car sounds even better when I connect my ipod to it, and the base thumps well, and the rattles are minimal. Every song is different, and maybe a handful that have a bad production sounds bad, which is alright by me.

I am happy with it now, and to the earlier posts, JLR will help out if they are treated with respect, and the dealership is a quality service shop!!!

Good Luck, and the fix was so good that it silenced me once and for all on this topic, excepting for sharing the success of it all.

Hi WhiteTardis--I hope you're right about the TSB kits! Do you know if they're meant for both the 380 and 770w systems?
