Is the AWD on the new XF a carry over from our X-Types, or is it something new?

 

Should be something new, and shared with the XJ. I've read it can intelligently transfer up to 100% of torque to either front or rear depending situation, while in normal conditions it's rear-biased. At least the XJ AWD has a 3.0 SC 340hp engine, so the X-Type setup (which is a bit infamous anyway) would probably die very quickly.
