the XF without camo!!
The production Jaguar XF was caught by spy photos with no cammo! I dont know about you guys, but im hell bent on getting one. I hope for its success, and pray for its low resale value..because a new one will definitly be outa my league. Its toned down form the concept, but i still think its way sexier then anything germany or japan is making. take a look.

It's not the best looking Jaguar ever but still a cool car . I think it rather looks like a 4 doors Aston too lol

I spose the purists would agree, those that prefer the retro styling......personally I think its modern, stylish and just stunning in general...........

It is by no means a problem that they are straying from what the purists want. They want retro styling, they got it, and this still werent buying new jags. This modern idea is always rejected by purists, but purists dont seem to be spending any money anyway, so screw em! BMW styling went modern, it was almost unanimously rejected, but they are the top selling luxury brand now. Change is good.

I am not keen on retro thingies however if we talk about Jaguar or Brits brands we can have to think twice .So, I mean let's say if you remove the badges off the car , can you still recognize it's a Jaguar ? If yes no problem .
I am saying this but XJ40 and X300 are my fave stylings . I think many purists refuse it to be a Jaguar due to it's square shape but XJ40 is still awesome in my point of view !
Change is good but you should do reasonabl not out of proportion otherwise it would kick back lol

well yea, it should instantly be recognizeable as a jaguar, but we need to give them time to adopt their new face. I think they should have made the move into modern styling in `99 like bmw did, but they decided to stay retro another 10 years, and the game passed them by, and now they are playing catchup. oh well, i wish them luck, and will remain a jaguar fan with their new face.

Definitely agree...as long as you know its a jag...wish they could modernize the front ends of our x's and integrate that...these cars scream jag! Plus I think the xkr's rear looks almost the same as our x's which is also very similar to other older jag models...

The whole reason for the X was to aim for a younger slice of the market and it certainly helped. The XF is just about evolution, the next step in the process of modernising the while image of the company.

Why do the car companies "camo" the test cars, etc?? They all do it. It just seems a little Mission Impossible-ish to me. Are they really that worried about losing an idea? Cars are all starting to look alike any way. But seriously, what's up with that?

Cars are all starting to like so alike, using the same platforms and common parts etc etc etc.
Maybe part of the reason for the camo is to keep people guessin right up until the "BIG" launch, as well as to keep ideas etc secret up until the last moment.

I had the same question a few months back about the upcoming Nissan GT-R, and an R&D tech from Nissan gave an answer about the Nissan logo not being able to be visible in the street for legal purposes. I thought it was bullshit, but at the time it had some validated point to it. I just can't find what Nissan forum that was on.
