I have an X type 2004 automatic and recently i have replaced a fuel pump. The car starts alright, but it struggles to go uphill. When i shut it down and wait for 1-2 minutes, it will start and drive with a little more power. When i am driving it on a sloppy or flat road, it drives ok. Please assist.

 

Did you replace fuel filter when pump was replaced?

 

Swingwing, No i did not change the fuel filter.

 

A bit more information needed. How many miles on your car? Is check engine light on?

 

You don't describe the "struggle" very well. Is it jerky? Smooth but just moves slow. Engine revs? Any sounds during the "struggle"
