Adding a leaper to our XE
Has anyone added a leaper hood ornament to an XE? If so do you have any cautions to share. Or does anyone have any thoughts about doing it? I am a bit concerned firstly because it is an aluminum hood.
Thank you.
Thank you.

People in the USA have been fitting leapers to the aluminium XJ saloons, and the hood of these is aluminium. Personally, I don't think the shape of current Jaguars really show off a leaper, it always looks a bit of an add-on, to be honest. That's only my opinion, of course. If you want one, you shouldn't have a problem fitting it.
Yes, definitely plastic. That front moulding covers the whole front of the car and the bumper "armature" is behind it as well as a few other things. My MG TF, a much smaller car, is very similar. Its the modern car design convention now. Rear is the same.
I had thought about it on the hood but after seeing the underside I have scraped the idea. There is no reasonable way to to get to a flat surface for bolting. The hood latch is in the way and and a flat spot would be to far back on the hood. As far as the picture shown with it on the plastic I don't think it looks good there. To be it looks like what I was saying about the hood. They could not place it on the hood so they went farther forward.
I have now scrapped the idea.
Thank you.
