My car stopped locking today. All doors remain unlocked.
2017 XE R sport
It is a left-hand side drive North American Car.

Key fob:
-pressing lock flashes the small red LED on the dash board and a small mechanical noise in the area of the passenger /glove box can be heard.
-boot and Flash lamps buttons still work.
-changing the battery did nothing.
-When boot/bonnet/doors/windows are closed there is No double beep indicating that something is ajar.
-if any of the doors /boot/ bonnet are open and I try to use the fob to lock, I get the typical double beep signifying that something is ajar.

Manual key:
-trying to lock the car with the manual key only locks the driver door, and only if I take the battery out of the fob so it doesn’t register the proximity of the fob.
-all other doors remain unlocked.
-using the emergency lock slot on the rear doors locks the doors
-the car automatically unlocks all the doors on it’s own, they wont stay locked beyond about 20-30sec.

Interior lock/unlock driver side buttons:
-no responses when pressing these.

Jaguar InControl app
-communicating with the car in real time.
-app shows all doors/windows/sunroof/boot/bonnet as opened/closed in real time as I tested these.
-app shows car as unlocked (since I can’t lock it).
-Door Lock-will not lock from app; “Request Failed- vehicle not secure, check security status”
-Climate (auto start)-“Request failed- vehicle in use” which is strange because the vehicle is sitting unused.
-Beep&Flash feature works and communicates.


I’m at a loss. I’ve not had this issue before. From google and various forums there seem to be issues like this time to time, but with variations.

Any advice?

 

Is there perhaps another key fob for the same car in the car? That would prevent the car from locking.
