In process of buying XE-R. While waiting for delivery, we have a loaner XE 3.5 RWD. Car is making a loud clicking noise upon acceleration coming from rear, possibly passenger side. It makes this noise almost all the time, doesn't matter if under hard acceleration, or just going. Also can be at any speed. anybody have a clue? This isn't my car, but would like to know before we receive ours.

 

My 2017 awd xe r-sport makes no such noise.

 

I have an XES, never heard such a noise...

 

It's obviously not normal, just wondering what it might be or if anyone has had a similar noise. It's loud, and clearly something isn't right. I haven't received my vehicle yet and if this is a common issue I may get cold feet.

 

On my fifth Jaguar and they have all been great cars, no problems.

I wouldn't worry about a random loaner car issue; however, why not take it back to the dealer for diagnosis, then you will know what's up and not have to guess.
