Dashboard Bling
Has anyone complained about the plainness and / or the totally black shiny plastic look of the XE dash. I've been searchin for trim parts and found this item on e-bay and also Alli Express (Chinese sourcing) and decided to take a chance on buying one. Not bad at all - precision ISO manufactured ABS part (fit and finish excellent) (3M automotive tape backing for installation) and it certainly brightens up the center section of the dash. I think about $40 some dollars for the part. Anyway I'm happy with it
That piano black trim that comes with XE is bad. It already a ton of scratches after 12K miles... It is also a pain to keep clean.
But I am not sure if I like silver plastic stick on either.
Jaguar should just offer brushed aluminum trim. I would pay whatever they want me to for it.

I came from owning a little Toyota (DX was as elegant as the company could get with that car). 4-dr sedan, light tan accented interior, metallic satin black exterior. A very elegant, clean,.. BUDGET car.
So what an XE that cost twice as much as my previous car LOOKED like on the inside was very important to me. I didn’t want the bling, I didn’t much want the lavish luxury Jaguar can provide in their cars. The XE’s odd damped-down, grey or black leathers, here-for-roadtime-not-plushtime, attitude is something I actually LIKED.
The off-white seating in the car is accent enough for me.
No dashboard upgrading at all for me.
Like the end of an interesting debate I had on another forum about protecting from thieves on the street,.. I want the interior to look as all-business, non-groovy, non-sentimental, and non-inviting as the look on my face when you see me exit my car… don’t fantasize about looking at me too long, and don’t fantasize about looking inside my car.
