Default Forward alert + AEB = pedestrian detection

I want to buy used 2016 XE ( actually november 2015) to my wife because she tends not to be very careful when near pedestrians. Several times she almost went over pedestrians on crosswalk. I was hoping that this car can solve this problem atleast partially.

The car have 110.000 miles and seems to be full option. Here is the serial: SAJAB4BNXGA926636. The seller its a local car park, the car is coming from Belgium.

Injection pump was changed in march 2019 , it costed shocking 2000 euro !!

1. Is that a regular fault after 4 years of usage ?

2. It also have Meridian audio system, is this coming by default on this cars ? If not what was the price of this option ? I also noticed that on topix I can't find that option on this serial, is this normal ?

3. The price is 13000 euro , does it worth it ?

4. Forward alert will detect pedestrians ?

If you are counting on AEB instead of paying attention; Lord help those in front of your car! Meridian is an option and good one at that. Does a great job at making less than audiophile sources sound great.

You should be able to print out a window sticker somehow.

From www.ownerinfo.jaguar.com:

“Not all vehicles are supplied with the AEB system. For confirmation, consult a retailer/authorized repairer.

The AEB system uses forward-facing cameras, located above the rear-view mirror, to help identify an imminent risk of collision with another vehicle traveling in front. The AEB system also helps to identify an imminent risk of collision with a crossing pedestrian.

In most instances, the AEB system reduces the severity of an impact. In some cases, the AEB system stops the vehicle before an impact takes place.”

I had to replace the AEB sensor in my XE. Was throwing faults all the time. It's also quite sensitive if it's dirty, which wasn't the problem in my case. Jaguar did well with the safety and high tech features.

If I buy the car how to make a fast AEB sensor test ? I don't want this kind of problems.

You'll have warning lights if it's faulty.
