Default Incontrol

Getting to find out the functions on the InControl App
and on the health page I get lots of info about various
fluid levels except the oil level, which seems to be one of the most important.

Is this normal?

Thanks for any help

Keith

The ingenium engines are all with proper dipsticks, so if an oil warning light is on its usually too late for an engine anyway.

The app won’t show an oil warning. Just check the dipstick instead, unless you have a V6 then you’ll have to do it off the screen as it’s electronic.

Thanks Ian

I have the v-6 with electronic oil "dipstick"

Eventually I'll learn how to read it - handbook says see p53 - which says "features" are only available if the motor is off, but nothing else!!

I still find it odd that the app doesn't report oil when it does report screen wash and coolant levels

The coolant and screen wash warnings are the same to all cars though, oil level warning is different depending on the model.

The Mystery deepens.

Found out how to check oil level electronically on a V-6, only to get message -
"function unavailable". Maybe it has a dipstick after all?

I have booked in wth the dealer tomorrow re brake problems so I will ask then

Cheers

So, this morning I found out that the car HAS an electronic "dipstick", but it will only give a reading if the motor has been turned off for about 15 mins. ie to let the oil drain to the crankcase.

I checked mine right after parking - hence no reading.
