Is my xe a special Japanese edition??
Hi there...I have just bought my second xe after losing my first r-sport in a weather incident.I was looking for a car of the same spec, yet these cars are unusual in New Zealand and settled for what the dealer named "2017 Jaguar XE Pure Anniversary edition...yet I cannot find any of these cars on the Internet so am unsure what trim this car is. My dealer tells me that certain editions of xe' s were made available in the Japanese market as there is more appetite for this car in that country. A search of the VIN has proved fruitless...would any of you xe afficionado's out there be able to shed any light on this for me?? I definitely know my car is not an r-sport having owned one, yet my car has a racing black and white decal on the grill and other trim features inside which are definitely not reminiscent of the base model...thanks so very much
Put the VIN into the service bulletin thing on topix if you haven't already (https://topix.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm) and see if that gives you any info. If the dealer is a Jag dealer you could also ask them to get you the build sheet and other paperwork from topix, you need an account for that and the average joe can't sign up any more.
There definitely are some variants only released in some markets, I guess they might get shared around occasionally. I was just quoted AU$2300 to ship my XE from Aus to Japan so it's not unreasonable to think a Japanese person might have moved there and brought it with them. I'd have thought some of the warning stickers and stuff would be in Japanese if it was a JDM vehicle though
