OEM Style Footrest Concept

OEM Style Footrest Concept
Hi All,
Working on a proper OEM styled footrest concept and hoping to get some feedback.
(see attached rendering).
Materials would be CNC'd brushed aluminum and rubber.
Recommended method of attachment would be self tapping screws hidden under the rubber strips.
Designed to fully cover/protect the OEM carpeted footrest area.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi AZBob,
Thank you for your reply.
Actually your post is what prompted me to design a custom footrest.
I've looked at other footrests and they only cover a small part of the carpeted area.
I wanted a custom one that completely covers the footrest area.
For me one of the main reasons for a foot rest cover is to keep the footrest carpeting clean.
Dirt won't stick to brushed aluminum and rubber.
The other reason is looks.
Thank you for your reply.

Agree. I like the second one as well -- nice work!
I ordered WeatherTech floormats (which cover the dead pedal) for our car even before I brought it home from the dealership. We live in the northeast so mud, slush and snow are a fact of life. Absent these, I would definitely want something to cover the carpet in that area.

Hi Keith100,
Thank you for your feedback.
The second design is an attempt to fill the footrest with rubber strip while still trying to maintain the factory look.
Hi pajeff02,
Thank you for your feedback.
I've seen some people install a footrest cover over their floormat.
Does your floormat cover the entire height of the footrest area or at least the part your foot touches?.
Some only go part way up the footrest, leaving the rest exposed to dirt/mud etc...
