Default "Rear child security fault"

I installed a child seat in the rear seat of my 2017 XE. I later removed the child seat.

I recently put both rear seats down so that I could load a large object in the trunk. I then brought them both back up.

I am now getting a red warning on my central display (i.e. Between the tachometer and the speedometer): "rear child security fault".

I cannot tell whether this is due to putting the back seats down, or removing the child seat.

Anyone know what might be causing this warning, and how to fix it?

I am getting this warning on an occasional basis. It usually occurs when I am leaving in the morning for work. It occurs whether my laptop bag is on or off the seat. The warning light only stays on for a few seconds and then doesn't return.

Oddly enough, I no longer see the warning. Nothing has changed, but the warning no longer appears.
