I have a new XE. Twice this happened. At stop. Auto start stop turned off and when I hit the gas, Nothing happened. The first time there was a little shaking at stop . The second time none. Car won’t accelerate at all. It does not stall tho. Both times I put it back in park and then to drive again and it ran again. No sensors or error messages. Have a appt with dealer but have nothing to actually show them.
Any thoughts?

 

I would just disable that feature even if they do manage to fix it. It just adds unnecessary wear/tear on your engine, starter, and battery for fuel savings you'll never even notice.

 

Disabling the start-stop is indeed a good idea but is quite hard to do. There have been some posts about removing a circuit board located by the fuse board on the right side of the trunk, but other posts say this will cause error codes to be generated. An alternative is just to use the push button by the gear selector to disable stop-start every time you start the engine. This is annoying but less so than having the engine stop and start at every road junction.
