How to read/display text messages from iPhone 7 on jaguar f pace?

I have it working in both Jags - my Samsung note is great, the iPhone 7 in my wife's car is patchy, but that might be because iPhones just arent as good as androids these days. I dont think that the sending texts works through the iPhone, but reading them does.

We cant send texts to each other bitching about the kids because if one of them is in the car and we stop at lights the text comes up on the screen. Awkward...
