Transmission Fluid change 2017 3.5 awd 3.5t awd
Honolulu can be a mixed bag as far as environment the car was kept in. If it lived on the windward side of the island, it would be exposed to high humidity and salt air, on the leeward side mostly dry. Garages are not on a high percentage of houses, carports are more common. Speed limits are relatively low with lots of cops everywhere to ensure a ready stream of revenue in the form of speeding tickets. The roads are generally in poor condition so expect lots of gravel abrasion in the front and rear flanks if not covered with Xpel. I lived on island for four years with my Lotus Elise, the dealer who was also the Jag dealer was expensive but pretty good
I have a 2017 XE 35T V6, after 8 years I thought it would be a good idea to flush out the old stuff and put in new fluid. Went to the ***********, he had not parts
and would have to order it. Yes, you do have to replace the pan as the filter is an integral part of the pan. I was quoted $1800 for the part plus fluid and install.
How does that grab ya? To say the least I just about crapped my pants. I asked if you just couldnt remove the pan and backflush the filter and clean the pan.
Well he said no go, it would leak! My thinking is BS. I think they just want to sell parts! Anyone else have any experience with this?????

It cost me about 400-500 Australian dollars to have my transmission drained and filled with a new filter/pan, so US$1800 is a no go.
Shop around for a cheaper price, maybe try an independent Jag workshop.
