Hello all:

I just bought a 2017 R-sport and want to put a wireless phone charger in the area ahead of the gear selector. The model I have does not have a 12v power socket on the centre console. Does anyone know if the power connector for the 12v socket is behind the fascia so I can connect the charger to it or if I am looking at a mod to connect round to the the fuse box?

Yeah, I have seen that one which prompted my question. The video has a cigarette lighter/12v socket on the fascia and so has the power connection behind it. My car doesn't have the socket but I was wondering if the power connector is still behind the fascia before I start ordering stuff. Also the sides of the centre stack on my model are differnet from those in that video and won't come off quite so easily.

 

Agree, i have been looking for any info on taking apart the center console and that link is the best I have found. The online parts site shows 2 retaining clips (7), so it may not be that bad????? If anyone has an assembly manual, that would certainly help.

 

I purchased a manual for the XE. It includes models from 2015-2020. Manual trans is pictured.

 

I will be getting a wireless phone charger (and interior trim tools) for Christmas. I will try and do a DIY with pictures based on my experience. The unit looks real good and has what I would call an adapter cable. The installation instructions are non-existent, but I had purchased the workshop manual for the XE so I am hopeful.
