Firstly, I tackled this project in various phases. I still have to complete phase 3, but here they are:
Phase 1 - Doors
Phase 2 - Dash
Phase 3 - Footwells and under seats

I purchased Smart EL lights in Ice Blue to match the XF's interior lighting scheme and am very happy with the results. Because all my lighting has been tapped into a source that provides interior lighting to the car, my ambient lighting now dims when I use the dimmer to dim all the lights inside the car at night if I'm on a dark road.
