Default Camshaft Sensor Location - RESOLVED

Hi all, a newbie here so hope this is all in the right place.
camshaft sensor shows a fault and going to replace it. Hopefully only a faulty sensor and not the timing chain. But before I tackle it anyone any tips for me. I've been doing a bit of research but I haven't been able to find much info on location, and is it easy to get to. Honestly I couldn't even find a pic or manual pdf for it.

Any help really the appreciate it.

Its a 2017 XF-x260 2.0d 163bhp.

I've searched JEPC (Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalogue) but can't find a diagram to show the location and I don't have the Workshop Manual for the X260.

The usual location for Jaguar to put the CPS is near the top of the cylinder block on the RH side towards the front. Their designers are creatures of habit so I'd start looking there.

Its actually easy compared to other sensors. Pull of engine cover and then NVH padding. I think its a T30 torx and thats all you need.

Default Camshaft Position Sensor Fault

Hi folks,
Looking for some help! I have a 2016 Jaguar XF 2.0 Diesel 180. Engine management light appeared on it a few weeks ago so I got a diagnostics done on it, diagnostic showed that there was a fault in the camshaft position sensor but I had also noticed that car was quite loud and rattly on a cold start for a few days prior to that. After car warmed up it went back to sounding normal. Mechanic replaced Camshaft position sensor but light was still coming on so he reccommened changing Timining Chain (Car had 80,000 miles). When Mechanic was was doing timing chain he said the timing guide was broke resulting in there being very little tension on chain. All parts were replaced and put back together. Car started no problem and the rattle was most deffinitelty gone when you started car. But.... Car is still has engine management light coming on and it is showing same fault (Camshaft position sensor). The car is also very sluggish to start but it does start everytime. I also feel the engine is a little bit louder than what it should be. Just does not seem to be ricking over the way it used to. Is there a possibilty that sensor even though its new may need to be replaced? Is it a tuning problem? Does anyone have any idea on what may be the problem? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with my Jaguar XE 2.0 diesel 180HP 2015. I replaced the sensor, but it didn't help. I would like to know the solution to this problem!

Default THANK YOU!

these pictures were so helpful! I have a 2017 Jaguar Fpace 20d and couldn’t find a diagram anywhere to help me figure out if I could replace the sensor on my own or not. It literally took only 10 minutes. Started it up after and the check engine light was off. I took it for a drive and all was good. Thank you so much for posting the detailed pics!!!!
