Hey guys, any HELP please

My fiance was leaving the market when check engine light turned on and the car died and doesn't work any more, when I press START buton, I can hear the starter trying to run the engine but the engine doesn't work, then I towed to the mecanic, he said the engine was missing fuel, he tested the two fuel pumps and they are good. After that, he tried to start the car, and unexpectadly the engine run, and then he tried to move the car and died again. It is so weird. Any ideas what is going on??!!! Have someone being throught that before??

What did the mechanic say?

 

They told me probably it is the fuel pump, but they don`t have the appropriate equipment to measure which pump is not working, so I towed my car to another shop where they can fix that.
