Hi everyone, first post.
I recently bought an XF from an auction, thought I got a real bargain, i may still have a bargain, that's why I am here.
So started to drive the car home, and as soon as i put the throttle down, the restricted performance mode came on. Then I noticed when I applied my brakes the lights at the front went from the light strip to the small circle, I know this because it reflected in the car in front. My brake and reverse lights are also permanently on. Is this all connected , any suggestions please..?

Welcome to the forum, and the pleasure of owning a great car.
We may be of more help if you can let us know the exact model, year and engine.
However, the first step is to get the codes read. Readers can be picked up quite inexpensively on eBay or Amazon.

Thankyou so much for the welcome.
The model I have is a jaguar xf r-sport d 2016 1999cc.
It all seems related to the electrics, so getting a garage to look at the diagnostics.
The front light thing is very weird to me, as in, unsettling. The strip light goes off and the circular lights come on everytime I brake..?

You bought a car at auction.
First thing to think of is Why?
Now you know why. The car has problems and they either could not or would not fix them so it went to auction.
Can you DIY any of the repairs?
If not plan on a very expensive lesson or sell the car now for whatever you can get for it.
