Default Jaguar XF overheating

2009 Jaguar XF overheating in long drive thru lines pretty much every time and immediately after i leave the warning goes away could this be a sticking thermostat or a water pump issue? Fan is working fine even runs after shutting off the engine for a minute or two on really hot days and ac blows cold even at a stop. The temperature is only about + 22 degrees Celsius when this has been happening so it is making me worried for the really hot days in the up coming months. Any input in the direction I should take moving forward would be greatly appreciated

You've posted in the wrong forum. Your car is an X250 the previous XF model which whilst looking basically the same as the current model, is totally different.
Post in the forum for XF 2007-2015 found in the Modern Jaguars section, and make sure you state what engine is fitted.
