Default Metallized front windshield

Anyone know if the windshield on a Jag 2018 Sportbrake is metallized? If it is a transponder on toll roads won't correctly.

Place your transponder in the dotted area near the mirror. My EZPASS has functioned perfectly since installation at the upper edge of the windshield in that area three years ago.

Thanks for the answer. Porschelux. My dotted areas are to each side of the mirror, so I imagine that will work. Was your dotted area to the side of mirror or along bottom edge of mirror?

It starts at the base of the plastic enclosure glued to the windshield, extends at an angle, to the roof.

Thanks again. Just called the Fastrak here in S Calif, and was told they would have to send me a small "decal" to attach to the front headlight. They said not to put it on the metallized windshield, even in the area by mirror with dots, as it wouldn't work right. Asked about putting it on outside of front window, and was told that wouldn't work with the metallized windshield--must interfere somehow. Guess their technology is different, although he did say using the "old style" transponder that I have would work on the windshield, but that they were going to be phasing that out in near future, so everyone will have to switch over to the new way.

Default I pass vs metallized windshield same prob.

Illinois i pass doesnt work if you put the transponder in rhe dotted area by mirror. Seems to not work even if i hold it by moonroof. Special transponder for license plate doesnt work inside car either and its such a clunky brick im not affixing to my frnt plate. No fix yet. Good luck

The owner's handbook shows the locations where a transponder can be fitted. I know this shows 2019 XF but it's the same for 2018,

Thanks so much for taking time to send the actual windshield image of where to place the toll stickers!
